..dann mache ich mal den Anfang:

my name is Daniela and my husband and me are living in lower saxony near Brunswick. He is an employee in court of justice and I am working with a gunsmith as chief assistent.

My hobbies are searching for my ancestors, collecting hippos, collecting old Barbie-dolls, collecting fountain pens and I love to write calligraphie. I also love my birds (two cockatiels and two budgies).

It would be very nice if somebody will answer or discribe him- or herself.

I am looking forward to your answer.

sincerely yours
Denni

Funny you mentioned it, but this was exactly what I was planning on asking Flavia. Why don't we have an 'English Only' part in this forum? Other forums have it and I think it's a good idea. After all, it is essential when moving to the U.S.

So Flavia, whaddya say?

And, Denni, thanks for posting it.

dear american,

thanks for your quick answer.

I like it so send emails or SMS to my American friend from Dallas. Yesterday, we visited him in hospital and he told to his girlfriend (we met her first) that my English is very good and he like to read my mails. I enjoy this compliment and we also told about our plans to go to the states. My husband and me were invited by him to stay with in Dallas.

Well, I am honored by his friendship and looking forward to that trip.

For my studies I have to learn business English. It will be ended with a big test and it is really helpeful to write and speak. So I try to "think" everything and write my diary in English. My teacher gave this tip to me. I could advise to everybody who like to learn English. I also tried to translate my website in both languages.

Yours
Denni

I think that´s a good idea having an "only English" part...my English is not that good, so I would really like to improve it.
I´m so glad that I have a penpal in America, so I have a little bit practicing, although I haven´t talk to her for a long time now...I notice that when I want to write something in English

I would love to hear something from you guys 8)

Seems a little rosted here...
I always wondered why people in Germany can't speak english...that's what they do all day in school, isn't it?
I mean, you just have to turn on the TV see some shows and stuff...they are all babbling s*it, really....
But it's such a great language, why should anybody not want to learn it?
Honored be the people trying to speak english!

Ah, i know I've been talking s*it here, but I wanted to say something, dunno, it seemed so deadly silent in here :-)

So, now I said somethin' and you guys can answer and then we have a conversation running!
Yay!

Greetings,
Melissa

Just wondering @Stefan that you join in an English conversation if you are NOT able to speak or read English. A good advice, if you don't speak English just join the German speaking area and not the 'Only English' area ;). Could work much better for you.

The topic and thread is named 'English only' and even as a German speaking person you should be able to understand those words though...

LG Mike
